Hotel Gardesana: 1977-2010

The discovery of this spectacular "paesaggio lacustre" (lake scenery) for Mamma Elena and Papa Adriano goes back to 1968 and without any doubts, they move from their mountain village in the Val Brembana (BG) to Malcesine and quickly settle into a new life with lots of good will and determination. 1977 is the beginning of their wonderful experience of running the Hotel Gardesana situated in the centre of Malcesine. Whilst Mamma looks after the foreign guests with great joy, Papa Adriano takes the cable car and runs the Italian Ski School with enormous passion. The following years they bring up their children, Osvaldo, Carolina and Pietro with great love, the whole of the family collaborate in running the hotel.

Hi! I'm Carolina, sister of Osvaldo and Pietro, mother of Federico and Alessio, my preferred hobbies are reading, music, cooking, open air sport and travel... After studying the technique of Nordic Walking and Fit walking I have become a qualified Instructor. To enrich your stay, I would love to teach you these two styles of walking... and a style of life, not changed but improved, to feel well physically and not only... you will also have the chance to get to know the hill walks and the impressive Monte Baldo. Hi everybody, my name is Pietro and I'm 39 years old. I'm Director of the Italian Ski School at Malcesine Monte Baldo in the winter and Mountain Bike Guide in the summer. I also love windsurfing, snowboarding and motor bikes. I know all the local routes and I can give you all sorts of good advice or even accompany you on your travels?

A new structure completely renovated with the privilege of a central position which permits guests to reach the Historic Centre, Scaliger Castle, restaurants, bars and the port: in just 5 minutes you can access the beautiful beaches, the lakeside cycle path, the promenade and the Monte Baldo cable car. Excellent departure point for hill walking or mountain biking with breathtaking lake views.

APARTMENTS

The newly structured building is composed of 9 apartments subdivided on 3 floors, accommodating a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 8 guests, with the possibility of a choice of mountain (Monte Baldo), historic centre or partial lake view. Comfort, warmth, practicality and elegance are the formulated ingredients for accommodating a sport loving client but also "reserved" and therefore ideal for families with children.

EARTH, WATER, AIR and MONTE BALDO are the typology of the apartments and with thoughtful consideration of the clients need they have all been given the name of a sport which Malcesine has the great fortune to be able to offer. The Monte Baldo apartment (Snowboard) is only at 800 metres from Gardesana Active Apartments, surrounded by olive trees with swimmingpool, tennis and children's garden. All the apartments offer Satellite TV, Internet WIFI (not for the Snowboard apartment) and a safe which can also accommodate a PC. The apartment guests also have at their disposition parking for cars and bikes (inc. in price) and a storage area for bikes and windsurf equipment. On the ground floor of the building, under the arches of "benvenuto" you will find the Sports shop 100-one open all the year around offering a vast assortment of articles to cover your sport. Next door the friendly and dynamic R-evolution run by Sonia and Chiara... with the possibility of breakfast (at special prices for guests), snacks throughout the day and enjoyable evenings with excellent cocktails and well known lake wines.

SET ON THE ROCK, THE LAKE'S PEARL...

On a small headland on the eastern coast of Lake Garda, at the foot of Monte Baldo, built around an antique Scaliger fortress, rises Malcesine. Gathered around the Scaliger castle and the Captain's Palace is the old town, with it's little port, quaint squares and cobbled streets animated with shops, bars and typical restaurants, Malcesine conserves its long standing origins and its fascinating charm. The medieval village, the landscape and nature melt in symbiosis with art: many are the events and exhibitions that give further value to the cultural aspect of Malcesine.

How to reach

BY CAR

From Motorway A22 Brennero take exit at Rovereto sud for Lago di Garda Nord, follow signs for Malcesine, after the first roundabout the hotel is 50m on the left.

From Motorway A4 Milano - Venezia take the A22 Brennero Motorway, take exit at Affi for Lago di Garda Sud, follow signs for Garda and then Malcesine. After the roundabout the hotel is 30m on the right.

BY TRAIN

On arrival at the train Station of Rovereto (TN) take the bus to Torbole sul Garda (North Lake Garda) from there you can get to Malcesine by changing bus or taking the lake steamer.

The Bus Station of Malcesine is situated just 50 m South of the "Gardesana Active Apartments". On arrival at the train Station of Peschiera (VR) (South of Lake Garda) outside you will find the bus stop for buses which will take you direct to Malcesine. The Bus Station of Malcesine is situated just 50m South of the Gardesana Active Apartments.

BY PLANE

We arrange transfers for the following airports: Verona Catullo, Brescia Montechiari and Bergamo at convenient rates.

From the airport of Milan you need to take the airport shuttle service to Milan Central train station. Take the train to Peschiera del Garda (South of Lake Garda) outside you will find the bus stop for buses which will take you direct to Malcesine. The Bus Station of Malcesine is situated just 50m South of the Gardesana Active Apartments.
